I just was fortunate enough to obtain the entire collection of such picks in their entirety. Current plan is to listen to them in order from begining to end...however, is there any one that I should jump right to?

what is everyone's fav and why?

i have previously listened to 1-3,14-16,19 & 20. Everything else i believe is new to me.

Not sure of the numbers but Englishtown and Harpur are 2 of my favs. Have yet to hear some of the most recently released ones. Too much stuff to mine thru here on Archive and other sites.

Cliff's fave is #19, without a doubt.

After that, its too hard. Cliff especially digs 2,4,8,12,14,22,30...

Dick's Picks 6 (10/14/83) is my favorite. It was the first DP's I bought and if it were a tape I would have worn it out by now.

my favorite might be the first one...just because it was about freakin' time and at the time I really didn't have much of anything from 73'...the Here Comes Sunshine might still be one of the best things on any Dick's Picks...

my other favorties are 09-03-1977 (15), 05-06-1981 and 09-10/11-1974...can't remember the numbers...

I gotta go with (I think it's DP #10), but the show it represents is 12-29-77 at the Winterland.

Best NFA ever. Only ChinaRider of '77. Great first set--amazing Peggy-O.

Everything Perfect Bros. was in '77, plus the bonus material includes great stuff like an Eyes and Terrapin from the same run of shows that year.

Grate, great DP.

Thank you guys for your input! I can't wait for this 36 volume adventure!

#4 is blowing me away with the 30 minute Dark Star>30 Minute Cryptical/Other One> 30 minute Lovelight!

Holy crap!

DP 10 doesnt have a Peggy O, but it does have the best Loser Ive ever heard

favorites of mine:

15: Englishtown, probably as close to perfection as you can get, rivals 5/8/77. Fantastic PeggyO, Halfstep in the 1st set and Disk 3 will blow your mind

14: If you love 73 and just want some incredibly great jams this is what you need to get. Playing on Disk 4 is amazing and Dews to start and end the run

19: one of the best shows of 73 and damn near perfect setlist, one of the best Dews Ive ever heard. Jerry has a rippin lead on every song, DP 14 is mood, this pick is energy

12: just fantastic 74 jamming, I love the first disk the best, that Other one Jam>Spanish Jam just does it for me

I second the motion for 2/13-14/70 (DP 4). To me it's the best of the bunch.

I am very biased. I absolutely love 77 so my fave is 29.
Two full shows from that time. I love this forum. Where else can I admit my biases on not be ridiculed. I can't tell you why I love the Brent era. I just do. And in here that is enough. have learned that is the beauty of this forum.

DP 14 is my favorite and has been for a long time. Excellent sound, and a great 4 disc package from the Donna-less month at the end of '73. Not to knock Donna, but the recordings of the 5 piece band are really special to me.

I don't remember the number(s) but 2-13-14-70 would be my top pick, followed by Harpur, and the Academy of Music (1972)show.

Oh--and Philly 1972.

I second the motion for
#18(2-05-1978), followed by
#4 (2-13-1970).

#18 has the best Samson ever, best Scarlet>fire ever and a really sweet Wharf Rat > Around x2.
#4's Dark Star is like a Wagner opera, it's a classic. Also a really sweet NFA> WBYG jam> Mason's children > Caution > Space > WBYG.

There is only one dud to me and that is 17. I dig something from the rest. My personal favs are 8 & 10, they are the first two I got. For sound, I love 33 especially. 12 is quite heavy as well. Those two second sets will blow your mind. Anyway, I could go on and on.
